This 2023 coin honours the rabbit, a pleasant, gregarious, and sociable animal who rules over every fourth year of the 12-year lunar calendar. An attentive rabbit with its ears up and a second rabbit reaching in the direction of a sprouting branch is depicted on the coin's back. The design also includes the Chinese character for ‘rabbit’(兔), the inscription ‘RABBIT 2023’, and the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The obverse depicts the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, country of issue, coin’s weight, purity, and face value.
