To recognise Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's lifelong dedication to the Commonwealth, the Royal Mint issued the final coin. It also marks the beginning of a new era because it is the first coin to have His Majesty King Charles III on the obverse.

The reverse portrays a central right-facing portrait of the late Queen. The Queen is illustrated wearing a pearl necklace, surrounded by laurel branches and rose tied with a ribbon. The name of the longest-reigning queen and the first to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee is honoured with the inscription "ELIZABETH REGINA 1926-2022." The sculptor Martin Jennings' design on the obverse features His Majesty King Charles III for the first time. The effigy depicts King Charles III looking right in accordance with a long-standing British coinage custom whereby the new monarch faces the opposite direction from their predecessor. It also includes the name of King Charles III, year of issue, and face value.

The coin is packaged with a certificate of authenticity, a classy presentation case, together with a pamphlet describing Queen Elizabeth II's great contributions. As the final coin in the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Memorial series, it has particular significance and is definitely worth collecting.
