Huangshan Mountain is located in the southern part of Anhui Province. It was originally called Mount Yi because according to the legend, the first ancestor of the Chinese nation — the Yellow Emperor became a god on this mountain. On June 16, in 747 during the reign of Emperor Xuanzong, the name of the mountain was changed to its current name, and the day was also declared as the birthday of Mount Huangshan by the Emperor Xuanzong.

On Huangshan mountain, the six scenic spots – the Hot Spring, the Cloud Valley, the Pine Valley, the Northern Sea, the Jade Screen Tower and the Fishing Bridge are all extremely fantastic and beautiful. Huangshan Mountain was once greatly glorified in a period of literary and artistic prosperity in China's history, and was known as the 'the most spectacular mountain in China’. Mount Huangshan is famous for its majestic landscapes, especially the unique pines that grow on granite, and the bizarre stones that are partly hidden in the sea of clouds.

Huangshan Mountain was listed by UNESCO as a World Mixed Cultural and Natural Heritage Site in 1990 and was recognized as the first batch of Global Geopark in 2004. Huangshan Mountain became a tourist attraction with three honors, namely, World Cultural and Natural Heritage and World Geopark.
