The Canadian Silver Maple Leaf is a silver bullion coin issued annually by the government of Canada. The coin has been minted by the Royal Canadian Mint (R.C.M.) since 1988. The face value of the 1 oz coin is 5 Canadian dollars, the highest among international silver bullion coins. During 2008, the market value of the coin was approximately 20 Canadian dollars. The market value in 2011 was above 30 Canadian dollars.
The purity of the coin is 99.99% silver, also the highest among other bullion issues which have a 99.9% standard. The obverse field is subject to variation according to the year of issue and country of issue. It may bear either the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (with differing portraits reflective of the year) or the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, along with face value and year of issue. The reverse depicts a large, single maple leaf with the purity, metal content, coin's weight, and country of issue.
*Minor imperfections such as spots or scratches may exist in bullion silver bars and coins during the minting or production process. These are common conditions and do NOT affect the valuation of product's buyback price. Pure silver tarnishes when exposed to air. It could change colour to brownish-red, black, or show white spots. The trade-in value of silver bullion items won't be impacted by this. The trade-in value for silver collectibles will be subject to the quote made by Emperio Gold and Silver Coins (HK) Limited.
