Specimen Quality 99.9% Pure Silver The coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in specimen quality. Gilded Year of the Tiger Design The coin's reverse depicts a tiger, which has been gilded in 24-carat gold, lying on the ground. As well as the inscription ‘Year of the Tiger’ and the Chinese character for ‘tiger’, the design also incorporates The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. Australian Legal Tender Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse. Limited Mintage The Perth Mint will release no more than 50,000 of these 1oz Gilded Edition coins celebrating the 2010 Year of the Tiger.
