Following last year’s hugely successful first release, the 2008 Silver Koala portrays a captivating new image of Australia’s cuddliest marsupial. The highly-appealing second Silver Koala is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in specimen quality. The coin’s reverse design depicts an adorable image of a mother and baby koala sitting on a tree branch. The image, which incorporates The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, appears on a unique ‘shimmer’ background. Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse. The coin is housed on a superbly illustrated display card, which includes a Certificate of Authenticity on the back.
