First launched in 2017, The Perth Mint Swan became an instant classic due to its limited mintage and unique design. It comes to the sixth Australia Swan design to celebrate the majestic icon of Western Australia.

Cygnus atratus, commonly known as the black swan, is a well-known inhabitant of the Perth region where it lives and breeds in estuaries, inlets and other wetlands. The majestic bird pairs for life and often chooses to live with its partner in isolation from other members of the species.

The reverse portrays a pair of swans in a wetland environment, gracefully floating on the surface of the water. It also includes the inscription ‘THE AUSTRALIAN SILVER SWAN’, weight, purity, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The obverse of the coin depicts the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, year of issue, and face value.
