2022 marks the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – 70 incredible years on the throne as Sovereign for 15 countries. Her Majesty’s undeniable commitment to the Commonwealth and its people has astounded everyone, and celebrations across the world have taken place.

The reverse of the coin celebrates Queen Elizabeth’s 70-year reign and dedication to service by juxtaposing a recent portrait with that of a young Queen at the start of her reign in 1952. The design also includes the inscriptions: the country of issue “CANADA”, and face value. The design goes even further with a beautiful ornate frame that has been crafted from maple leaves – an additional tribute for Her Majesty’s work as Queen of Canada.

The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt and the inscriptions: “ELIZABETH II”, “D．G．REGINA” and year of issue.
