The Canadian Silver Maple Leaf is a silver bullion coin released by the Canadian government each year. The Royal Canadian Mint (R.C.M.) has been producing the coin since 1988. The 1oz coin has the highest face value of any international silver bullion coin at 5 Canadian dollars. The coin's market value was around 20 Canadian dollars in 2008. In 2011, the market value was greater than 30 Canadian dollars.

The coin's silver purity is 99.99%, which is also the highest among other bullion releases with a 99.9% standard. Reverse: A huge, single maple leaf with weight and purity on the reverse. Obverse: A portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the year and face value.
