The coin has also been struck in silver from 1 February 2008. Except for its face value of 1.50 euros, the design of the silver coin is identical to that of the gold coin. With their 99.9% purity and lovely design showcasing Vienna Philharmonic instruments, these silver coins are gradually garnering worldwide recognition.
The obverse depicts the enormous organ in the Golden Hall of Vienna's Musikverein, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra concert hall. The coin's reverse features a depiction of musical instruments depicting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the words Wiener Philharmoniker ("Vienna Philharmonic").
*Pure silver tarnishes when exposed to air. It could change colour to brownish-red, black, or show white spots. The trade-in value of silver bullion items won't be impacted by this. The trade-in value for silver collectibles will be subject to the quote made by Emperio Gold and Silver Coins (HK) Limited.
