The American Silver Eagle is the United States' official silver bullion coin. The United States Mint issued it for the first time on November 24, 1986. It is exclusively available in the one-troy ounce size, which has a one-dollar face value and is guaranteed to contain one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver. Title II of Public Law 99-61 (Liberty Coin Act, enacted July 9, 1985) authorised it, and it was codified at 31 U.S.C. § 5112(e)-(h). The United States Mint certified its content, weight, and purity.
Obverse: Adolph A. Weinman's depiction of Lady Liberty walking gracefully while draped in an American flag as the sun rises over a ridge. Reverse: A heraldic eagle is depicted beneath 13 tiny stars, which represent the founding colonies.
*Pure silver tarnishes when exposed to air. It could change colour to brownish-red, black, or show white spots. The trade-in value of silver bullion items won't be impacted by this. The trade-in value for silver collectibles will be subject to the quote made by Emperio Gold and Silver Coins (HK) Limited.
