On 2 June 1953, Her Majesty The Queen’s coronation took place at Westminster Abbey. The joy of that moment brought cheer to post-war Britain. To celebrate of the 65th anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen’s coronation, The Royal Mint released a special edition of The Sovereign coin in 2018, struck on 2nd June 2018.
The coin’s reverse features the engraver Benedetto Pistrucci’s classic St George and The Dragon design with a special Privy Mark 65 with a Crown. The obverse bears Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
