It's obverse and one of the 12 selected sites in the Historic Centre of Macau, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on its reverse; this series is a unique interpretation of the plurality of cultures. The first coin began with the almanac animal rat, and continues up to the current Lunar horse coin, which is the seventh coin in this lunar collection. The coin’s reverse side embodies the carvings of the Guia Fortress – in commemoration of Macau’s maritime, military and missionary past. The fortress is located in the Historic Centre of Macau which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also a popular tourist attraction of Macau. It comprises a military fort, a chapel - Chapel of Our Lady of Guia and a lighthouse. Within the chapel, one can find elaborate frescoes featuring motifs of religious and mythological inspiration, representing Macau’s multicultural dimensions.
