The rich and detailed design is a feature of the entire series. The reverse coin features the Rat in a modern way, there are the year of issue, the country where it was minted and their inscriptions in Chinese; the obverse is different for each coin in the series, to better represent its heritage through Macao. In this issue is depicted the A-Ma Temple, which is located at the Inner Harbour (in the southern peninsula of Macao). The A-Ma Temple is included in the list of historical monuments in "Historic Centre of Macao", and in the World Heritage List of UNESCO. It can be assumed that this temple is the symbol par excellence of Chinese culture in Macao.
