The People's Bank of China issued the 2024 edition of the Panda Bullion Gold Coin on October 30, 2023.

The classic Panda coin series depicts the world's most famous giant panda. This beautiful animal is frequently likened to the concept of Yin and Yang due to its black and white patches. When Yin and Yang are balanced, the giant panda's behaviour signifies peace and harmony.

The reverse design is titled "The Transmission of Love" and features a mother panda with her cub. It is the sixth edition of the "Decade of Love" Panda coin series, which visualises the transmission of love. The illustration of the mother and cub pandas in an intimate embrace inside the forest, with human-like expressions in their eyes and mouths, makes the pandas on the coin appear lifelike, especially the detailed depiction of their postures, movements, facial characteristics, and expressions. The love shared between the mother panda and the cub through their eyes and body language flows not just within the photograph but also to every spectator. The coin also includes inscriptions of the silver purity, coin’s weight, and face value. The obverse features the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests at the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, along with the country name "People's Republic of China" and the year of issuance.

In terms of craftsmanship, the reverse design of the coin employs a colour-changing technology on portions of the panda's fur, plant branches, leaves, and grassland, with subtle variations in the range of this technology for different denominations. The annual reverse design of the Panda Bullion Gold Coin, as a commemorative coin themed on the panda, is constantly changing and innovating, and the Panda's tale is consistently and thoughtfully recorded by the designers on the different yearly editions of the coin.
