This beautiful silver coin is the third release in the Austrian “Language of Flowers” series, following the rose and dandelion released earlier since 2021, dedicated to the message that nature can give to us through flowers. Marigold is the featured flower in this edition.

The original name for marigold is Tagetes and it gets its name from the Etruscan God “Tages” – The God of Wisdom. Marigolds are known in this day as the “Herb of the Sun”, symbolizing creativity, passion, happiness, the promotion of cheery conversations. The meaning of Marigold focuses on positivity and patience. With their golden hues and positive energy, marigolds are said to bring light into any situation and have the ability to illuminate and guide us when faced with challenges.

The reverse of the coin features a pair of marigolds, both of which are imprints of real flowers. The obverse shows a young woman enjoying the scent of a marigold with her eyes closed. Her long hair is decorated with other flowers, while butterflies flutter around the girl. Is also includes the country of issue, year of issue, and face value.
