The obverse of the moose silver coin displays the portrait of Her Majesty Elizabeth II. The obverse also includes the inscription indicating the Queen’s name and the legends denoting the face value of the coin as well as the year of the issue. Shown on the reverse of the coin is the colorized image of the moose, the governor of the thick Canadian forests. It is portrayed in its native environment – beautiful autumn forest. Due to the shortness of the moose’s necks, they are unable to graze; their main food consists of leaves of willow, young shoots and birch, sometimes water plants.
